Funding Priority Page

Thank you for your interest in Nevada Outdoor School!

Our mission is to inspire exploration of the natural world, responsible stewardship of our habitat and dedication to community.

This is what you can make happen with a grant or donation of $1,000 to $10,000:

A grant or donation of $1,000 …

·        T-shirts for all summer camp participants

·        A set of new tires for one of our vehicles, including our 15 passenger van used to transport summer camp participants

·        Provides up to 15 scholarships for campers

·        Purchases supplies for classroom lessons

A grant or donation of $2,500 …

·        Covers the cost of 1, 300 hour summer AmeriCorps member to provide youth camp and nature programming from June-August

A grant or donation of $5,000 …

·        Covers the cost of travel to provide classroom lessons and field trips to rural communities throughout Humboldt, Elko and Pershing counties

          A grant or donation of $10,000 …

·        Opens up opportunities for new “classrooms unleased” (field trip) programming, especially for 5th-6th graders

Our current funding priorities are:

1. Elko Expansion – We recently moved into our own office space in Elko and are currently working hard to raise funds to provide a wide variety of programming throughout the county including classroom lessons, field trips, summer camps and community outreach events

2. Rural School Travel – We take pride and strive to deliver quality education programs to even the most rural communities throughout Humboldt, Elko and Pershing counties. These are places and schools that are often overlooked and underserved. They take time and money to get to, but are a big priority for us.

3. Classroom Unleashed Opportunities – We currently have strong field trip programs for 1st-4th graders, but are always looking to increase funding to provide those opportunities to more schools. Additionally, we are looking to develop and provide place-based classrooms unleashed programming for 5th and 6th graders.
