At CTIC, visitors can experience life size dioramas, original murals, exhibits on the native peoples and productions depicting the trek of the early pioneers.
They can hike on accessible trails, through a wagon encampment and see a Shoshone village.
It is a beautiful educational facility, and a partnership that opens a lot of possibilities for NOS programs!
We are excited to have Macy Rohr, as a NOS employee, in place as Programs Coordinator for the Trail Center providing field trips and Traveling Trunk classroom visits to Elko County School District students and enhanced visitor interpretive experiences to the general public!
All K–12 educators are invited to join us for an evening at the museum!
The night will begin with a short presentation featuring representatives from the California Trail Interpretive Center, the Northeastern Nevada Museum, Nevada Outdoor School, the Nevada Department of Wildlife, and Elko County Mybrary. Learn how each organization can support and enhance your classroom curriculum, as well as the field trip opportunities available for your students.
After the presentation, enjoy refreshments, explore the museum, and take time to connect with fellow educators. While the event is informational, it’s also a chance to share ideas and build your network within the teaching community.
📅 Time: 5:30–7:30 PM
📍 Location: Northeastern Nevada Museum
Nevada Outdoor School inspires exploration of the natural world, responsible stewardship of our habitat and dedication to community.
