OHVs are a great way to get outside and explore. Nevada Outdoor School is committed to promoting safe and responsible OHV use here in Nevada and beyond!
Being safe and responsible while riding is everyone's responsibly. It ensures the health and well-being of all and keeps our recreation and riding areas open for everyone to enjoy.
Nevada Outdoor School is here to help! - Thanks to funding from the Nevada Off-Highway Vehicle Commission and Nevada State Parks, NOS has developed an online OHV Safety Certification PLUS, an in-person youth (16 and under) rider evaluation and training program!

Ride Safe, Ride Smart: Trailblazers in Training 🚦
A Youth OHV Safety Camp
Off-highway vehicles (OHVs) are an exciting way to explore the outdoors—but riding safely is essential. Whether you’re on a dirt bike, ATV, or side-by-side, safety is everyone’s responsibility, not just the driver’s. We all play a role in keeping our trails and riders safe!
Join Nevada Outdoor School for a fun, hands-on day of games and activities designed to help youth Ride Safe and Ride Smart. No equipment is needed, and no actual riding will take place—this camp focuses on safety skills, awareness, and smart decision-making.

Contact NOS to schedule a youth rider evaluation!
A youth rider evaluation promotes safety, builds confidence, and identifies areas for improvement. It reassures parents, guides instructors in tailoring support, and encourages responsibility in young riders. By establishing safe habits early, evaluations help prepare youth for group rides and support lifelong, responsible off-highway vehicle (OHV) use.
1) Participant must provide size appropriate OHV.
2) Participant must wear appropriate safety gear (helmet, gloves, eye protection, long sleeves and pants, and closed toe-over the ankle shoes
3) Online NV OHV Safety Certificate Course should be completed before arriving at rider evaluation, please bring a copy of the online completion certificate
