Get ready for a week of adventure and discovery! Nevada Outdoor School’s Nature Explorers day camp for ages 5–7 is the perfect introduction to the outdoors. Campers will spend each day exploring local parks and natural areas, learning about plants, animals, and the environment through hands-on activities designed just for little adventurers.

From scavenger hunts and nature crafts to games that teach teamwork and outdoor skills, every day is full of fun, curiosity, and exploration. Campers will have opportunities to observe wildlife, play in nature, and make new friends; all while building confidence and a love for the outdoors.

Ages 8-10 | $100

Elko | Lamoille Canyon | July 13-16

Get ready to embrace the classic camping experience at Nevada Outdoor School’s Adventurers Camp! Designed especially for campers ages 8–10, this week-long adventure blends curiosity, hands-on learning, and just the right amount of challenge for growing outdoor explorers.

Campers will spend three exciting days discovering new trails, observing plants and wildlife, and learning how to feel confident and capable in the outdoors. Each day is filled with interactive activities, nature-based games, and skill-building challenges that introduce Leave No Trace principles, teamwork, problem-solving, and outdoor safety in ways that are engaging and age-appropriate.

The highlight of the week is an unforgettable overnight camping experience. Campers will work together to set up tents, enjoy a campfire, share stories, and experience the excitement of spending a night immersed in nature. It’s the perfect first overnight adventure—supported, encouraging, and full of fun.

Adventurers Camp is designed to help 8–10-year-olds grow their independence, strengthen friendships, build outdoor skills, and create lasting memories in a safe and supportive environment. Adventure starts here!

Ages 11-13 | $175

Cave Lake State Park | August 3-6

Get ready for the ultimate outdoor experience with Nevada Outdoor School’s Pathfinder Camp, designed for campers ages 11–13! This week-long adventure offers a traditional camping experience that combines advanced outdoor skills, exploration, and unforgettable memories—perfect for middle schoolers ready for a bigger challenge.

Campers will begin their journey together before heading out for several days of immersive outdoor adventure. Along the way, they’ll hike scenic trails, explore diverse landscapes, and participate in hands-on activities that deepen their understanding of Leave No Trace principles, wildlife observation, and environmental stewardship.

Evenings are spent around the campfire, building camping skills, sharing stories, and experiencing the independence and responsibility that come with extended time outdoors. Pathfinder Camp is designed to strengthen confidence, leadership, teamwork, and resilience while giving campers the opportunity to fully unplug and connect with nature.

This is more than just a camp—it’s a meaningful outdoor experience that challenges young adventurers to grow, explore, and create lasting memories.

Ages 14-17 | $175

Lake Tahoe | July 20-23

Nevada Outdoor School’s Explorer Camp is designed for teens ages 14–17 who are ready to take their outdoor adventures to the next level! This week-long program offers a traditional camping experience in the breathtaking Lake Tahoe region, combining skill-building, exploration, and immersive outdoor experiences.

Campers will meet at the NOS offices in Winnemucca and Elko before setting out for Lake Tahoe. During the week, they’ll hike alpine trails, practice advanced outdoor skills, observe wildlife, and participate in hands-on stewardship projects. This camp emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and outdoor problem-solving, giving teens the chance to challenge themselves while connecting with nature.

Evenings are spent around the campfire, sharing stories, practicing outdoor cooking, and enjoying the serenity of sleeping under the stars. Explorer Camp provides older teens with the opportunity to develop confidence, forge friendships, and create lasting memories in one of Nevada’s most iconic landscapes.
